History
The company was started as a partnership in Brown Deer, Wisconsin, in 1961 by Robert J. Byers and Edward J. Kirk. The original name was Automation Engineering Company, Inc., a manufacturer's representative firm. AA Electric was formed in 1966 as a distributor of electromechanical components with the same ownership. The distributor business grew much faster than the representative company and AEC soon faded into the background.

In 1974 we decided to open a branch of AA Electric in Lakeland, Florida. It grew rapidly because we filled a void in the existing distribution. We were neither a "Pipe & Wire House" nor were we an "Electronic Distributor". We provided a group of products that were more technical and were aimed at Machine Automation & Process Automation.

In 1975 we opened a branch in Atlanta, Georgia. The East Rutherford, New Jersey branch began operations in 1983 with Warren Rybak as general manager.

By continuing to operate as a specialty electrical distributor and providing superior service, we have continued to grow and prosper.

In 1984 the Wisconsin corporation was separated from the rest of the group. The three remaining branches were each incorporated and full ownership was transferred to Edward J. Kirk. The ownership of the Wisconsin corporation was transferred to Robert J. Byers.

The present general managers of each of the three corporations have been in their present positions more than ten years and all of them are stockholders. They are as follows:
